it doesnt even have to be in those other states.
CCW is still possible in kalif. in fact, that wack job sean penn got one, even though he's had a long record...
that fact is, in kalif, if you are rich and can donate to the local sheriff, or you are a celebrity, or a black man in oakland who had attack from gang member and was threatened... then you can get a CCW...

hoplophobe? Maybe...
Yes, police make can make me nervous if they're patrolling some public space with their holster unfastened. Excuse my use of improper terminology.
It's not a gun itself that puts me on edge, its my confidence in the people who carry them. My confidence in average Joe/Jane's ability to be rational isn't particularly high. This site alone is full of examples of asinine individuals. There already have people who swirve all over lanes when they drive, road rage, throw controllers when they fail in MW, or rage because their farmville account got messed up. I'm supposed to feel comfortable with guns in the hands of these people?

being that i work in the industry i would say a good 60% or more of the people buying/carrying a firearm have no business doing it. not that i am one to limit what people can and cant do. i would never say they couldnt. but the people that come into the shop cant comprehend the basics of defensive shooting when explained to them. nor dothe have the proper mindset.(yes yes... who am i to judge??? right?)
maybe im just a *****(hell i sure know i can be) maybe this is just my bitterness to the industry popping through... who knows.
as for the previous poster(something classy) why worry about the firearm intheir hands when they are in a 5000lb suv at 80 mph? why orry about a kitchen knife? pencil... spork... anything can be a weapon... worry about the person not the object.(which is what i took from your post, im just saying dont pigeon-hole one object)

Depends on the jurisdiction. Don't know CA's specific laws, but I'd be inclined to say no.

I don't discriminate. The jack *** in the SUV who can't drive gets a lot of space. If it comes flying through down town, I watch with care until it passes. I cringe a little when people handle a kitchen knife improperly and I try to calmly take away meat forks and glass bottles from people who get too heated or too drunk at barbecues.

I was just really interested to know what the law is regarding places that serve alcohol. We aren't permitted to drive while intoxicated, so it'd only seem logical that we aren't permitted to carry while intoxicated.

I agree with the sentiment that many (bordering on most) people are idiots and/or *******s who should not be allowed to procreate, drive, drink, own firearms, or even generally be allowed to live past the age of 10. I would probably even vote for a law that would make the rules for getting a firearm were a little more strict, for example someone who gets a DUI has their right to own firearms or at least open carry taken away for some number of years.
I really wish the guy in the news spot didn't talk about getting respect because he carries a gun, that is some immature **** to say on TV. Yeah, of course people who carry a gun regularly notice that people treat them differently when they do it, but it is childish and stupid to bring that up as a REASON to carry a gun.
However, this is America and it is still somewhat a free country. In this spirit I completely support the people who want to open carry and exercise their constitutional rights.
