Wow, I just found out who it was. She's a good friend of mine :/ But she's now at home recovering. The things us "officers" do, so others may live...

I hope the people in the Mini Cooper the officer hit are alright as well.

So did they determine what caused the crash and which party was at fault?

Sorry for being so cold about the officer hitting the Mini, but when I had my Mini, I was almost T-boned by a Sunnyvale officer who wasn't paying attention because he said he was looking at his computer screen when he drove through an intersection with a stop sign.

Good to know you're unharmed man. Every time I hear about an OPD hurt I always worry it may be you bro. Take care and I hope your coworker comes back healthy!

Are you kidding me? If the pd is rolling code 3 .... GET THE **** OUT OF THE WAY!!!!
They dont roll that way for ****sngiggles.

There are certain rules that have to be meet to roll code 3. If she was rolling code 3 and the mini was in the way. That means the mini should get a fat Fail to Yield ticket.

I also think all pd's should hand out more fail to yield tickets. As it will help force those fast lane chicane's over to a lane on the right.

Maybe he was running out cars to check for stolen vehicles. How else do cops find stolen vehicles?

Maybe he was reading the details to a call?

Maybe he was looking at a map responding to a call?

I wouldnt be to hasty to say he wasnt doing his job correctly, or be so jaded due to one experience.

Should the cop also get a ticket for wreckless driving? Just because you're rolling "code 3", doesn't mean you can put other civilians at risk while playing cops and robbers.

Hope the mini takes this to court, although I'm glad the officer is alive.

That's true. Sorry. But the officer himself stated he was at fault..

But yea, at least the officer that rolled is alright...

xx = me
pp= officer

Here's the scenario, the officer came to within 8 to 10 inches of hitting me and I went into the lane of opposing traffic to avoid him... Yea, scared the living **** out of me and my new mini with 2k on the odo...

yeah i see where your coming from, but understand, there are millions of things happening inside of the cockpit, from listening to the radio, typing on the computer, looking for crims in progress, and trying to make sure you go home at the end of the day.

And yes, when you get into a crash in an emergency vehicle, you will still get points on your license. However it will say (Emergency vehicle operation)

I'm supposed to drive while starring in my rearview mirror while the officer can't look over the side without plowing into my car? That's just as ridiculous as the point structure in regards to emergency vehicles.

If you want to protect us, don't crash into us and then give us points.
