Hey you guys... What's with the hijacking of my So Co drive post. C-mon. I just want a day of driving for every one to enjoy. No timing, no maps just a 2-3 hour drive on a nice twisty road somewhere near or within Sonoma County...eat talk and have fun with no competition to worry about.. Are ya up for that on an other day besides Nov 2nd. Perhaps a week or two after the "I can't drive 35 Rally"?

Vince... if your reading the boards lately. Or perhaps Scott and his RST. OR Joe... any of the other i-clubber that wants to go?

Paul...

How about the 9th or the 16th of November both are Sundays? Say the usual time like 10-11 departure and we roll up towards the north. Stop and eat and chat and then head back home by dark. What do ya think...Route sugestions are welcome. NO DIRT ROADS though...

Motorcycle roads are great for motorcycles, and great for cars when there aren't motorcycles, but motorcycles and cars trying to share the best roads often has disasterous consequences.

Having lost a good friend who, while riding his sport bike up Highway 1- met a subaru (subies in the 80's didn't quite handle the curves as well as our WRXs do) mid-bend, head on, -my personal preference is to look for roads that aren't on pashnit's list, (there aren't many....as they do list most of the best twisty roads in the state there).

Bolinas-Fairfax road is the isht!!! I LOVE that road.

Pete's right, you can't avoid all these roads, not possible.

But I gotta say though, I used to ride and drive with some riders from Labusas.org - NorCal section (My GF and I used to own a '94 Suzuki RF900R, and a '99 Kawi ZX-9R Ninja), and I've driven my old '68 BMW 2002 with them on their rides, holding up the back of the group, and it was definately a good thing, insulating them from a$$holes on Alice's Cafe runs and such.

had a feeling someone was going to mention this. This fellow that wrote this was a motorcylist and writing from that perspective, but I assure you Ive been on most of these roads and they are not specificaly "motorcycle roads" they are public automobile roads many of which are hiways used by thousands of commuters each day, the vast majority of which being automobiles. Im sorry about the loss of your friend, I can undrestand why you would have strong feelings about this subject.

No, I know that they don't have any motorcycle only lanes or anything, my only points are that that list gets thousands of hits and especially early mornings you should expect to be sharing the roads with bikers on any good roads, but even more so for the roads on that list.

And like I said you can't stay off them, most of the best roads in this part of the country are listed there- I just like to find even more out of the way alternates when I can.
