Ok another brake question.

Well it is about time at almost 50K on my 05 STi. I need new pads and tires. My question is what are descent stock brake pads that I can get and won't cost me an arm and a leg...
Any tire input would be nice too.

easy, just buy tires and pads at Sears...they will be cheap, last a few years and not stop you!

Since when were stock pads expensive???

In my experience stock pads are cheap, and good for regular driving. ****, they even last a few minutes on some "spirited" canyon drives.. but like I said, just a few minutes b4 they start to get warm and squishy.

thats the scariest name to name a company...sounds like you'll get asbestos cancer if your brake fumes get into the car...

I don't think you should skim out on brake pads. That's one thing that is pretty important. I've been running Carbotech Panthers I think and they suck. Lots of brake dust and squeal. I bought a set of Hawk HPS. They are suppose to be good for street, low noise and less dust. I haven't put them on yet. For both front and rear they were around 190 shipped. Pretty pricey but that's what we get for having brembos. I don't know about cheap kragen or sears brake pads.

I have a set of a032r's that will fit your rims nicely!

I agree on getting good pads too. never know when you'll need those extra feet of stopping distance. I had a pair of Endless SSS ( i think) pads. Weren't that expensive.
