The concept had more aggressive drg, more volumetric form, higher belt line, sharper faster character line then it got lost in the production. I love the small details from the concept, but overall it`s not too bad.

The first time I saw the bugeye, I was so blinded by the ugliness, I couldn't see where I was throwing up. But now I think it's the best looking of the GDs, my hawkeye included.

Maybe it's just so iconic now, I dunno.
If in doubt, FLAT OUT

I didn't hate the bugeye when it came out, but I wasn't crazy about it. It grew on me quick just like the new Impreza hatch did, once I saw it in person.

There are a LOT of small details on the concept that I think look better - the flatter, simpler scoop, "real" diffuser, the narrower greenhouse in the back that gave a much stronger hind quarter presence, the rake to the fascia on either side of the lower grille where it sweeps to the side vents vs. flatter on the production and how the lower corners of the front bumper angle in vs out.
That would be the Levorg

Yeah, especially next to the small greenhouse on the concept.
True, the weight went up, but so did the rigidity.

I'm not sure how tall you are, but those of us that are 6'+ are certainly happy that the roofline was increased to a normal height. Subarus have always been great vehicles for taller people, even with their relatively small size.

Concepts are one thing, but when it comes to actually volume manufacturing some of that stuff, it is a whole different story. That's how that stuff gets lost in translation. The concept is given to the engineers and they have to figure out how to build it and still make a profit and make it functional without totally losing the essence of that prototype.

. Wish the car had a lower roof line.
