If that were true we would have sold off more of the "assets" that we have for more controllable and high upside youngsters.
Sadly, management has decided that a teardown is NOT in order, and SF will have several LARGE contracts that are made up of just ~5 players or so...IIRC

We know this BS too.

i'll see your complaint...and raise you...$154MM
oh TH-TAWP
y'all are just on the hook for $7M...for 2 more years! Atlanta and SD are picking up the majority of it.
Whereas look at this CLUSTERF**K of a salary situation for the Giants
$161M in contracts for 10 players, only 2 of whom are under Age 30, of which 3, maybe 4, avoided notable Injury time, and don't get me started on WAR values....

Of the Dodgers' $253 million in 2016 salaries, only $140 million (55%) is committed to players on the active, 25-man Opening Day roster.
The Dodgers have $114 million in salaries for players who aren't playing for them - Business Insider

OAHHHHH GOOD.... now that the collective Stanton and Ohtani c**kteases are over, it’s time to come back to the real world.
Hope the Giants management is ready to properly (and more realistically) plug the holes for the lineups. To repeat: we need a CF and a 3B. Do not deviate from this. You play at AT&T park. Speed, contact play here. Yes get a power RH hitter but do it without completely hamstringing the organization. Thank you.

First Evan Longoria and today, Andrew McCutcheon...
Looks like the Giants are trying to pry away fading "face of the franchise"s away from other teams. Well, at least they kept their draft picks and stayed under the luxury tax line. Hope they are competitive at the least and that they are still set up for possibly diving in headfirst in to next years FA bonanza...
