Official: SF 49ers 2010/2011 Season thread
Jed York is an absolute asshat... Baalke was already in there... and with their failing construction of the 49ers for the past few years, it makes their office VERY VOLATILE. We won't be seeing the 49ers go anywhere until they change from the top on down.
Bad pick on Baalke, and now the reputation is out that the 49ers have a bunch of Al Davis's up there with thumbs up their own asses. And now they are scaring away legit coaches. McDaniels would have been interesting, but with all the sources scared of the 49ers office, we'the 49ers are completely ****ed.

Eh all rumored, but York is an *******... seriously if Seattle puts down 6mil... 49ers have to do that especially for the turnaround Harbaugh did. Terrible news for 49ers fans. We are pwnd. Only way of hoping Harbaugh stays is to throw up another milly and hope Harbaugh is in it for championships and not the cash. Although I believe if he makes it to the playoffs he should receive another couple mil in bonuses.

the fins offer would make Harbaugh the richest coach in NFL HISTORY!
i really do think the owner of the dolphins took jeds word when he said "money was no object" and decided to muddy the water just to mess with us
well just like a over bid at a auction looks like your going to be stuck paying for that...
guess this is payback for all those times we kicked your fins

I haven't read any of the articles for today and yesterday, but judging from all the comments, 49ers fail to land Harbaugh? Was it really that much of a surprise? lol
I've been saying since Dingleberry got fired that Jed is the Chris Cohan of football and that he's too cheap to pay for big names in regards to management.
I've also said before that I wouldn't be surprised if Jim Tomsula ends up being our head coach. You heard it here first lol
Oh and Jed's probably going to re-sign Alice Smith.

I always thought you need to make a change, especially since the team hasn't been to the playoffs in... 8 years? So make a change... but nope, kept the same front office with Baalke. Not much hope anymore... and our only pro bowlers will be on defense since the defense is on the field so much. Horribad offense.
49ers remind me of the Raiders. They have the personnel, just horrible coaching and can't use the players right. They get big named folks that make it big on a different team, but on their team they suck. That's the 49ers.

You know your 49er front office is bad when:
Josh McDaniels, who was the head coach of the horrendous Broncos until he got fired, turns down his one and only job offer from the 49ers to become an NFL head coach again.

Cross off former Denver Broncos coach Josh McDaniels from the list of potential fallback candidates for the San Francisco 49ers.
McDaniels is not interested, according to a source I spoke with Thursday.
The 49ers still hope to hire Stanford coach Jim Harbaugh, but they reportedly reached out to McDaniels as a potential fallback while the Miami Dolphins became more active in pursuing Harbaugh, according to the San Jose Mercury News.
The 49ers have interviewed Harbaugh and Oakland Raiders offensive coordinator Hue Jackson. Dolphins owner Stephen Ross and general manager Jeff Ireland led a contingent that flew from Miami to the San Francisco Bay Area to meet with Harbaugh beginning Thursday morning, ESPN Insider Chris Mortensen reported.
McDaniels, 34, is more likely to land as a coordinator than as a head coach this season. Questions about the 49ers' current leadership -- specifically whether the team has a winning mix with third-year president Jed York, first-year general manager Trent Baalke and executive vice president Paraag Marathe -- made the head coaching job there less appealing to McDaniels following a turbulent run with the Broncos, the source said.
For the 49ers, hiring McDaniels as head coach months after the NFL punished him for illegally videotaping a 49ers walk-through practice would seem stupefying, in my view. Of course, we do not know how serious the 49ers would have been about McDaniels, so I'm reluctant to judge them too harshly for merely reaching out. Might the 49ers have been more interested in McDaniels as a coordinator?
At the very least, it's revealing when a recently fired candidate has no interest in the 49ers. It says McDaniels remains confident he'll land a more appealing job once he repairs his image through a successful run as a coordinator. It also suggests high-profile candidates could elude the 49ers, as the case appeared to be during the team's search for a general manager.
Landing Harbaugh would change perceptions. If Harbaugh accepts a more lucrative offer from the Dolphins, however, the 49ers will look like a team that overplayed its hand and misled fans when York said money would be no object.
The 49ers might then have to settle for another tier of candidates. That would not necessarily prevent them from hiring a capable coach. None of us knows whether Harbaugh would fare better than Marty Mornhinweg, Brian Billick, Jackson or any other potential candidate.
We do know the 49ers wanted Harbaugh, however. Watching him take a job with the Dolphins or anyone else would sting.

I know it's still rumors out... but Miami is keeping their coach... which would leave Harbaugh in SF or maybe Denver? Interesting.
Whoops, forgot to add that Luck returning to Stanford... Stanford is in the drivers seat, not SF. Harbaugh could have a shot at a BCS next season with Luck intact. Might not skip that opportunity.

seriously HBO needs to start a reality show about the off-season instead of training camp haha...
i say harbaugh stays @ Stanford and takes them to the BCS
they are automatically qualified and will be ranked 5th at the start of the year... so as long as they are able to beat the ducks, they should sail into the BCS.
if he decides to be a HC in the NFL i hope its with the 49ers
guess ill be plugged in for weeks to come...
either way ill be at the 9ers vs steelers and cowboys game along with a hand full of Stanford and Cal games as usual
go 9ers
go pac12
