I seriously hope so. For whatever Reason Boch seems to have a tough time keeping Nate on the field regularly.

I hope it's Wheeler rather than Brown, but who knows how it'll play out.

Getting rid of Wheeler is tough. He's one of our best, if not the best, pitching prospect in our system.

If we sign Beltran to more than a one year contract, it'll be worth it. Unless Wheeler ends up sucking a fat one in New York.

I hope the deal gets done sooner than Sunday. We need the bat!

Deal for Beltran is done...pending approval from MLB and Beltran. He already mentioned he would waive his no-trade clause for the Giants. YEAH!

Glad that we appear to be keeping Brown. It also looks like the Mets will be eating $4 or $5 million of Beltran's contract. Pretty good deal me thinks. Hopefully it'll get finalized tomorrow so Beltran can be there for the Reds series.

To make room for Beltran on the roster, Pat Burrell will be released, and Brandon Belt is going back to AAA.

Burrell is hurt and on the DL. I don't know if they can release a player on the DL.

Where'd you hear about these moves?

Yea, I don't see Belt going back to AAA ball as bad as Huff has been hitting...

Burrell will be activated and then released. Reason is that they gotta make room for players coming off the DL soon plus Beltran added to roster. Belt is going back to AAA.

Anecdotally speaking it sucks for Pat being released... him taking the league minimum just to stay a Giant and all.

But when the future of this season is concerned... I'm ok with him saying farewell. Hey it might re-spark his hitting.................... again =p

I dunno about giving up Wheeler for a rental in Beltran either. It would definitely be more settling if he signs with us at the end of this season. I find it hard to give up a future ace contending pitcher for 3 months of Beltran. Of course I certainly hope to eat my words come Oct/Nov

I agree, we need to sign Beltran to make this deal worthy.

Although, it's hard to say how Wheeler would do down the road. Comcast compared Lincecums time in San Jose to Wheelers. And Timmy blew him out of the water as far as record goes and ERA.

Still hope we sign Beltran to a 2 or 3 year deal though. I think Panda, Beltran, and Schierholtz are gonna be a force. Oh yeah, and Keppinger too.
