that's why the "nomination" thing seems odd to me.
But I see where you're coming from on the previous post and totally agree on the can't have too many divisions.
I think 3 would be good.
1. Best of show (vendor pick)
2. Best non impreza (member pick)
3. Best wagon (ladies pick. Just grab like 5 girls and walk them around the lot.)
No shop cars.
Prizes don't have to be KILLER but should be good. I think some of the best stuff should be saved for raffle so people will buy tickets.
I'd like to see things like...
a set of wheels (wheel dude)
a tune (ed or mike, etc)
an alignment (call AI. they'll do it)
a set of springs
exhaust
window tint (call vince he'd do it)
a complete detail
a clear bra (ask jeremy)
etc.
All you have to do is ask. If you get in contact with a couple of magazines and get them to send a rep and can promise vendors some media coverage you'll have a better time getting better stuff. But all you have to do is ask.
A few years ago we were the largest suby meet on the west coast and I think we still are one of the largest and certainly deserve more play than some of the others that get pages with only 100 cars because we should have 2 or 3 times that this year. Not the 400 of the past but I think 250 is doable this year as more north bay cars will come out.
I mean for car show winners you have to keep in mind that they probably have everything under the sun on their car so maybe do gift certificates.
Could do a 1st and second place for each of the 3 division. Or maybe just a 1st if you can't get enough.
Raffle prizes shouldn't be that hard to put together. From clothing to wheels. Hell I'd be that Huck would kick down a hat or shirt for the cause and that would be a SICK raffle prize.
