I'd like a coach who says what is wrong with the Niners off and and has ways to fix it, and I also hope they can fix Kaepernick. Mike Shanahan is meeting with the Niners, he did have an electric year with RG III during his Rookie Season, and now he has someone faster with some arm power.

-He's got 3 rings, 1 as an OC with the Niners in '95 and 2 as HC with Denver with Elway...
-now keep in mind, Kaepernick is not Elway, ****...
-the only guy that I think is similar is big Ben... and both wear the number 7.
-Kaepernick wear #7! (haha coincidence...)

Mike Shanahan can tailor an offense to fit the needs of the QB, I think he's shown that. Kaepernick is a smart scrambler... and seriously the dude needs to run more often instead of trying to mold himself into something that is not, he's forcing himself to extend plays rather than take the opening like he did the previous years before this one.

Take Russell Wilson for example, he just has smart pocket sense, and if he didn't bolt off like he did this year the Seahawks would have trouble extending drives and winning games. Kaepernick has a mobile QB/deep passer skillset, he doesn't have the pocket passer skillset, so use him where he's best.

Anywho, an offensive mind is fine as long as Vic Fangio stays DC. If we hire a defensive coach as a HC, then I hope and pray they hire someone that has an answer to the offense/Kaepernick

Chip being in charge of personnel means he's going to find the right guys, at least on offense. Defensively they gotta weigh pros and cons. Eagles are able to score, so I would think defensively they'd pick up some players. O-line needs work in Philly too.

I believe 3 HCs in the NFL have personnel powers. Chip, Carroll and Belichick.

Saw that today. That's good news I hope we see a better Kaepernick next year. Good that he feels like he needs more help

The O-line doesn't need work. The only player on the Eagles Offensive line that wasn't injured or other wise missed games this year was the Left Tackle Jason Peters. The rest of the offensive line was injured except the Right Tackle who served a 4 game suspension. They went through, iirc, at least 6 different variations to their line throughout the year due to various injuries. The secondary is what needs the most work and a receiver not named Riley Cooper.

With the Peyton Manning led Broncos getting knocked out by the Colts and having exactly 0 Super Bowl Wins since going to the Broncos, would he have been able to Win a Super Bowl with the 49ers had he chosen the Niners instead of the Broncos?

^He could have won 3 more.

BTW, John Fox is out of Denver @ 46-18.

If someone can have something similar to Harbaugh's reign, it's him.

This is including Tim Tebow and a playoff win with him.

An article from earlier in the season nearly posed this very question, Timmy.
What if ... Peyton Manning had picked 49ers over Broncos? | NFL | Sporting News

I think the Niners & Manning's chances would have been nearly the same as things played out in reality. I can't quite recall, but I'm almost certain the Niners would have had to give up or would have missed out on a couple key pieces due to the HUGE paycheck that Peyton would have commanded in SF.

Another interesting parallel is the nearly identical regular season records that Harbaugh & John Fox had in their 4 year runs, and yet they were both kicked to the curb despite those gaudy 44-19-1 and 46-18 tallies.

Oh, and in case y'all dig this "what if" stuff, check out Dave Dameshek's very entertaining features:

Meh. More like John Fox was able to somehow win 1 playoff game with Tebow and then watched Manning do what Manning does for a few years.

Not that impressed and not surprised he was canned after getting crushed last year and the uninspired 1 and done at home this year. Denver's window slammed shut yesterday.
