Noob question: what oil are you running?

Hey guys. First time Suby owner here out of the eastbay. Ive been doing some research on the forums (i-club Nasioc) about what oil people are running on there cars. I wanted to get some feedback on what the locals are using since we share pretty much the same weather and all. Ive ran mobil 1 synthetic 5w-30 on all my previous cars without a problem but ive been seeing a lot more negative reviews than positive. Ive also seen a lot of positive reviews on the Shell Rotella T6 5w-40. So just wanted to know what you all are running. thanks everyone.

Mobil 1 has not worked well on the turbo subies. Worked fine for me when I used it in my na impreza. The t6 is good.

Mobil 1. Used it on my 05 sti, saw track put 45k on the car, Had perfect compression.
Current 06 sti, perfect compression uses mobil 1.

Why you shouldn't trust people who tell you mobil 1 sucks? Because they are the same people who tell you its normal for the subaru to burn a quart of oil a month.

I've used mobil 1 on all my subies, never had an engine problem, my subarus have never burned oil.

what weight mobil1? i think the one associated with the burning is the 5w30 all the other weights works fine on subies( i havent researched this in a while so it could be off)

i use shell rotella 5w40 never had any problems

I currently use Total Eneos 5w-30. I've used rotella t6 in the past, but I get the Total for a very good price from a friend.

Just the regular synth 5w30. Also run it on our outback xt turbo, and ran it on my 04 wrx (no longer have it only put 30k on it).

I'm not saying its the very best, just that iclub gives mobil 1 a bad rap, and I have to totally disagree with the burning oil due to mobil 1. Most recently the sti (ewg fp green ~350whp) saw double day track day, 2 in a row@ t hill, oil needed = zero.
