No TV?
I have almost phased out cable TV for good, just down to Comcast cable internet and nonHD local channels ($49 a month). I have the Apple TV and its pretty cool ($99). It handles Youtube, Vimeo, Netflix ($9) (thinking of cancelling Netflix as the streaming content has been sucking the past few months) and all my iTunes content streams to the TV (home video, downloads, music). My Sony TV has Hulu Plus ($9) and PS3 handles BluRay. The last step in my grand plan is to set up a nice HDTV antenaee on the roof for local channels, so in the end my only comcast bill is for internet.
Also, in other Apple news, Apple TV 3 is supposedly being announced tomorrow along with the new iPad. There has also long been rumors of an Apple 'Best of TV' packages (think TV channels being Apps) with most recent reports that it may be coming in December.
Traditional TV is on its way out. Streaming/internet/apps is the future.

AT&T Uverse sucked so bad for my fam, that we just dropped it. We complained to them almost every month and we got some reparations for our troubles. I think we gt almost $200 from them
Anyways, we dropped AT&T once the service plan had ended. and we just went to Digital.
Digital is free, and its quality is MUCH better than AT&T. I cannot stress that enough. Also, You can watch some major football games if they are on ABC or one of those big service providers..
As for anything else, I want on Hulu for free (I dont pay for hulu plus, You can wait a few days and get the hulu plus tv shows for free.. Basically, Hulu plus lets you watch right when the episode airs.. without hulu plus, you can watch the same show in about 7 days after it airs..
)

Just got rid of cable at the begining of the year. Haven't regreted it yet.
Apple TV2 ("jail broken"
2 TB NAS hard drive
PS3 (for when I want to watch Hulu Plus)
I wanted the Roku because it supports Hulu Plus, but I've already got a Mac and iPhone so I wanted the ease of AirPlay. So Apple got the best of me.

I thought about it, but my cable bundle is cheap right now.
Blast! Extra with Comcast is $46. Plus HD for $5. Plus HOB $5.
I figured just having 3MB/s down would cost me about $40. The extra $20 keeps the wife entertained.

Dish HD America's Choice 250+ was $46 with dual DVR (second room is only SD) and no additional costs or fees. HBO + Showtime (8 channels) was an additional $19, but I dropped that a year ago. I dropped Comcast previously because I was paying about $75 for basic freaking cable, no HD, no DVR. When I told them Dish was $46, they wouldn't even lower my cost. So I said DISCONNECT.
plays well with others

Because...baseball...
Though it's harder and harder to part with that $95.00 every month. I've had DirecTV for 10+ years and love it, I just wish it were a bit cheaper

I haven't had TV for the past 8 months and its been a lot easier than I expected. I have access to cable in my Apartment just no TV with me. I find that I do a lot more activities too. I can find most anything I want to watch online. Also I have no temptation by commercials and have pretty much cut out fast food in the last half year.

$95 a month to play ball? That's pretty high isn't it?
I've actually never played in any adult leagues. I'd like to. I used to be sub for a few different softball leagues. It's free. Woot! I'd basically put up ads on craigslist saying fielder/hitter for hire. Haaaa. They'd call me when they had a need. I played in all ranges of leagues.
Never forget the first time I hit 2 home runs in a D league. They called me out and I was like... WTF? haaaa.
