Hulu is awesome. Been watching most of my favorite shows on there and not on TV for a while now.

I think I'm starting to figure out why TV is so expensive... with new TV's making it so easy to use the web for TV who needs it....

You'd think the cable companies would figure this out and stop screwing with people. My cable went from $46 a month plus about $20 for phone to around $120 after it was bundled? WTF AT&T. Originally I was saving some money and trouble (one check). But it seems every chance they get they add money to it somehow. Now my phone is running about $40 a month and the cable portion is like $88.

I didn't change ANYTHING!

I hate AT&T and I worked for the company for over 7 years. I actually switched to Verizon while I still worked there because I was tired of them screwing with my bill. They'd change something and then turn my phone off. I'd call them and say... WTF. Then they'd say... oh you didn't pay your bill. And I'd say... my bill is due next week. They'd say.... oops. That'll be $38 to turn your phone on.

You'd think I would have learned my lesson. But I'll tell you right now. I WILL NEVER HAVE ANOTHER AT&T PRODUCT. **** them.

I haven't had a tv for almost 6 years, and i'm too lazy to get a new one (with service, cabinet and mounting, audio, dvr, etc. etc.) As long as my Internet connection stays fast (20mbps) I haven't missed it.

My cable bill is almost $200/month, Basic+HBO, 50mg internet, and a phone line I've never used.

I'm tempted to dump cable. I just don't watch that much TV, mostly stuff on HBO and that's the only stuff that's hard to get from places like Netflix and Hulu.

I'm mostly sick of paying that much for their semi-decent service.

+1 on Roku Box. What are they now, like $50? If you want to watch new shows than add Hulu Plus and you're good to go.

Honestly I liked the WD live hub better but that's because the Roku doesn't play .AVI files.

The interface is a bit "clunkier" to use but it's a trade off for being to read more file types.

Then why are you buying a Roku if you're just going to watch downloaded movies and shows on your computer anyway?

The Roku up until recently hadn't had the ability to connect to local shared media and I still don't believe they have the ability to play those files.

i have a upnp server running on my computer that will transcode on demand if i want to watch something that isnt MKV or M4V... that streams direct to the roku.

More importantly, who the **** uses AVI these days?

LOL. So, went to go get Dish setup at the new place and no line of sight to the sat. Cancelled dish with no early termination fee. Woohoo. Only bad thing is, now I don't have internet at the new house either....because AT&T apparently has issues getting modems from their supplier. So no internet at home for a WEEK if I stick with them or tomorrow if I kick myself and go with Comcast. Can still watch what is on the DVR and my external drive but no live TV until I have to ship it back. Plus I own a TON of movies on Blu-ray Only problem then is, I can't work from home for a while
