New Suby, New fix it ticket...already

So I bought my first 2006 WRX and right away installed a Espelir JGT500 exhaust muffler.
Well, as I was driving to work today, I get pulled over and get a fix it ticket. I had no idea it was illegal in Cali to have these.
Any one experiences the same thing?
Any one looking to buy one L? It’s practically brand new. I installed it about 3 months ago. I don’t race, I just loved the bad *** sound it makes. If anyone is interested it’s up for grabs.

If you get sent to the Ref for an Illegal Exhaust, do they just do a Decibel Test? or do they also do a Smog Test?

They save you the time in getting a decibel test. They have a list of all illegal exhausts. How convenient. They’ll only due the smog thing if you change your up and down pipes.

You wouldn't happen to be the guy I met in down town San Jose. You were driving to a party and stopped to see the 2 brand new black Subies.

The JGT500 is one of the loudest exhausts on the market, you'll just have to swap it back for stock if it's a fix it. Good luck.

Yup, that's what I plan to do. I have 30 days though, so I'll be able to sport it at this weekends MT Hammy meet

If I install the silencer it comes with, do you think I can get the ticket signed off?
