Scion and Subaru have a partnership in FRS/BRZ...may be it is Subaru's plan to make the rest of the line up to look like Toyota products so they can sell even more to the average non-enthusiast consumer

Wait, no widebody? That's weak. Also I hate how the mirrors are mounted to the doors. Seems like it's a styling trend a lot of manufacturers are leaning towards.

I love all the haters. I bet most of them are driving GD body Imprezas which, in 2001, were widely regarded as having been slapped with an ugly stick compared to the GC/GM body cars. IMHO, they only got back to producing good looking Imprezas with the GR body cars.
Plus, this is just a test mule. I doubt they would have displayed a concept car so wildly different from the final product so close to a potential release date. These discussions are worthless until the final production spec images are released.
Carry on.

That is not going to be the new WRX, that is a current Subaru Impreza with a new hood for an intercooler.
The consensus on this pic is that its the current body, with a new wing and Subaru is just testing out the new engine and drive train in the old body.
the camo is probably just to mess with people, Subaru already said the Impreza and WRX body styles were being divorced.

I have no idea how much influence they have, but Toyota buying part of FHI has, IMHO, really shown in the GR line. I don't think I'd ever think of buying another WRX until they move far and away from the Corolla STi. I'm sure hoping the separation from Impreza and WRX will do this, but I'm not holding my breath. Especially with this spyshot of a tC STi.

Not sure what your point is. Even after people warmed up to/bought the GD platform, a majority of people still agree that the GC platform is still the best looking platform. Unlike how people have grown to like the peanut and hawk eye style, the opinion of GC > GD has not changed. I don't know about others, but if I could have bought a GC with everything the GD came with, it's a no brainer that I would pick the GC.

Did you hate on the GDA/GDBs because they were looking like GM products (GM owned 20% of FHI prior to Toyota buying 16%).
Alternatively, the GR is the only Impreza since the GC/GM that I've considered purchasing, FWIW.
