It all went down hill with the black album if you ask me. Bob Rock started producing them, I stopped listening, and all was lost. I know they eventually dropped Bob, but it was too late. I see James pretty often in Marin, should I tell him the new album "sucks- gruff".
I just don't understand why people like The Black album... It's more outplayed than every Nirvana song combined. Justice was Metacllica at their best, Puppets was the most creative, Lightning was the darkest. Everything else is pathetic... Pantera over Metcallica any day... Lamb of God FTMFW!!!

It's so sad, because I loved Metallica so much growing up and I have literally no respect for them now. Between the napster BS and now crappy music, they've pretty much phased themselves out.
