That's what I'm saying. I'm wondering if it's a hybrid? How else can it get 36MPG, even with the CVT?

And the subaru is selling better and better.

You have to realize that the general public wants vanilla. It's the most popular flavor for a reason.

I personally hate it. I really wish that these car designers would stop being so damn lazy. It looks like they take each others cars and put a transparency over the top and say... hey lets add some ugly *** this here and some barf over here.

I am really bummed that subaru is going in this direction. I am fine with them taking the bulk of the cars the way they have, bigger, more comfortable, more american. But I think it's really sad that they have completely destroyed the impreza platform and won't bring the damned turbo diesel legacy over.

Look at Honda. They watered their cars down for the masses. Every car enthusiast jumped ship. And now Toyota is beating them. You can't beat Toyota in the watered-down car market. Toyota owns it.
Subaru needs to find its niche (which is AWD, outdorsy, sporty cars) and stick to it.

I think I'll withhold judgement till I see official pics of the STI.

I`m sure I`ll like the Subaru boxer sports coupe better. Can`t wait.

That side profile is depressing. The so-called "fenders that hint at the AWD drivetrain" seem rather subtle. I guess the STI will have the much bigger fenders, but rather disappointed from it's side profile.

Unfortunately Toyota has a lot to say with the direction of Subaru right now.
