Need a place to live/rent

I know this is a bit out of place but I recently found out my live-in girlfriend has been cheating on me and I need to get out, I have a lot of stuff that's going to need to move.

I am currently looking for an apartment/house to rent for ~1000 or less a month, I make double that, am quiet, neat and generally keep to myself. I need off street parking for at LEAST 1 preferably 2 cars. I am also allergic to everything, so I do need a cooking space of my own. I will consider living anywhere but would prefer berkeley/emeryville area. I also have a cat but I can leave her with family.

If you have any tips/info/good places to look where I'm not going to be shot or eaten alive by roaches at night let me know. I am open to renting a room if I have garage parking but would prefer my own place. I appreciate you guys taking the time to read this, I'm really just putting lines out everywhere hoping something comes up.

I am completely open to anything in the fairfield area/east bay/Marin/Santa Rosa/San Francisco but I would greatly prefer the berkeley/emeryville area as I commute to napa regularly.

2 garage spaces+ your own cooking space= probably best to get your own place. I don't think you'll find 2 off street parking unless you get a house, and even that isn't going to have 2 kitchens?

Yeah I think you misread me so I wanted to clarify, if I lived with someone they would need to respect a space as purely mine to cook with.

I'm not expecting 2 parking spaces but you never know what's out there so I thought I'd mention it.

I'm not looking for a whole separate kitchen, just either my own place to live/share, or some info on a place that might fit my needs.

Need a granny unit! Be perfect. But everything seems reasonable to me. Hit craigslist. Good luck.
