I am sure the holes on the trunk already have been marked where to drill, atleast I know its like that on honda's, if that is the case, with the Subaru, come by my place and look where the bolts are held on, on my WRX's trunk and that will guide u where to drill. Let me know before you come by though because my car will be at the dealership this weekend.

pop the trunk and all the holes are there already just drill dead center from the inside with a smaller drill bit then go outside and drill with the correct hole sizing. use a magnet or a duct tape to catch all the metal shavings.
