Need Input on Bikes
Hey everyone, I know this is a bit off topic, but what isn't these days in BAIC. Anybody know of a good forum for the bay area riders? I'm thinking of getting a sports bike pretty soon (I don't want to be driving my car especially at 17 mpg and each gallon being 2.xx). So I wanted something quick to commute with.
Any real info from other subie owners that ride would be awesome.

www.southbayriders.com is good also. Most of the SBR crowd are on BARF as well.
Not only does my bike do better mpg, it only needs 87 so its a double saving. An additional bonus is the adrenalin rush of staying alive amongst 200 cell phone wielding commuters saves on the need for coffee.

yeah, since I started commuting to Sunnyvale from San bruno, I've been on my 2004 cbr600rr
... dodging traffic is FUN, especially when I am heading home!
Seriously, the gas mileage alone is worth the expense. I'm getting between 40-45/gal using 87 octane.
Like they said, BARF is awesome. There are also some bike-specific web pages you can check out, as well as sportrider.com and the rest of the online magazines.
see you at Alices

I had 28K miles on my 01 accord that was purchased in sep 00, about 7000 miles a year, and I have 21K miles on my 02 R6 that was purchased in july of 02 lol. Although it's been collecting dust since I got the subbie. I'm sure the newness will wear off shortly then it's back to the bike, although I have been appreciating not being a sweaty pig when I get to work because I always wear full leathers(erbo ProFutura touring with helimot boots and gloves with all inserts and a back protector, been down once and have two pins in my knee from it so I'm pretty cautious now). Oh and when you pick your leathers, while black may look cool, the very first time the sun hits your back you'll wish you chose otherwise.
