I just discovered the world of pocket bikes!

I just bought a Blata pocket bike and all I can say is "Holy Crap, what a fun sport!" This thing is fast and sometimes a little scary to ride. I never wanted to buy a motorcycle because I could never trust myself on one. I can scare myself pretty good on four wheels so I assume two wheels may be the end of me, but man is it fun to lean in through a turn. I was so amazed at how far you can get your knee to the ground on such a small bike.

Does anyone in Sac. race? What are some good websites for performance parts?

we have a gang of pocket bikers in my neighborhood. seeing (and hearing) them ride is both amusing and annoying mainly b/c of the high pitch sound of the motors. combine these bikes with the scooters and you have a circus act.

Very true, the sound is a bit much. I wish they sounded more like real motorcycle but I think every <50cc two stroke will have that high pitched whine. So there is not much you can do about that, except maybe sell the bike ::

if you ever need parts locally on the cheap, check out a store called bike builders on franklin (in/near oak park). sort of ghetto but they can hook you up with good deals on parts

there's an R/C track in Roseville called Speedworld Raceway www.speedworldraceway.com and they're starting to sell pocket bikes for $500. nothing listed on there yet, but the owner is saying he'll have stuff up around the 15th.

Ebay sells some decent Chinese knock-offs called 'Boss pocket bikes'
They are only about $350, but I would spend twice as much to get a good Italian one. If you pay for crap, you will then own crap.

i got the hook up on the "knock off" pocket bikes (brand new in box)... they're pretty much worth the $400 bux. those Blatas and Polinis are HELLA expensive, for that price u can buy a real bike like a used fzr 600. do your research though before u buy one. check out http://www.bayarearidersforum.com/forums/ and search pocket bikes. there's a whole lotta useful info there. If anyone's interested i can get 47cc full and partial fairing bikes, 49cc full fairing bikes, and 49cc motors on a 47cc full fairing frame... and don't be fooled by 2-stroke (intake and compression), it's only one speed (it has a centrifugal clutch) but u guys all probably knew that. PM me if anyone's interested in getting one!

Yea! Those things are fun, I just rode one for the first time a few weeks ago. If I had extra $$ laying around I'd definetly go get one.

wow. i remembed mini bikes were hot a long time ago. Now they've come back. sweet.

pricing is a little high... i really don't see the point in getting one if you're going to be the only one riding. this calls for "BIKER GANGZ"

i was checking out the BOSS bikes. since the bikes themselves aren't really super-expensive i'm going to consider getting the BOSS. it looks decent.

some of the styles out there are hideous!
