Anyone have or know about cyclecross bikes? I'm planning on getting one soon, and I'm trying to gather as much info about them as I can. So far I've read up on the Cannondale, the Trek XO, and the LeMond. The main problem I'm running into is finding a shop that stocks them, so that I can go in for a test ride. What I may end up doing is test riding a comparable road bike for fit, and then ordering a cross bike in that size or similar (based on the geometry). Is this advisable? Or, does anyone know of a store in the area that stocks them? Any advice is appreciated.

LeMond is good and Cannondale usually makes good road bikes, so I would assume their X-Bikes are good. What made you want to get one? Not many people are interested in these particular bikes. Also, try Croll. I've never tried one of their bikes out, but I have read that they are supposed to be good, but I also think they are a little pricey. I don't know how much you want to spend. You into touring?

I used to have a cannondale.....raced DS on it.
I loved that bike more than any bike since.
i highly recommend cannondale.
You may also consider....if you have the money...sycip. He was a local builder in Fremont...really really cool guy....some of the best welds I have ever seen...his bikes are amazing...specializes in xc and road bikes so I now his cross would be great.
I recommend buying from a shop....they usually give you free tune ups for a year or something....sometimes life.....and hook you up on parts and you can start a relationship there....worth the effort.
