Alright, so i ordered a fiberglass JDM midwing for my wagon (KNOCKOFF), and got a call from the vendor that he was out of stock on it and wouldnt be getting any in. (after payment was already sent and recieved) So the vendor makes me an offer, "how about i send you a carbon fiber version since i won't have the fiberglass version for a while." So as there is a 200 dollar difference i say sure what the hell hahaha. Heres the problem, i have a Crystal grey wagon and im worried the carbon fiber is gonna clash with the car. So..... what to do !? Paint over the carbon fiber ? Leave it, its baller look? Paint what can be seen, so it looks like its CGM, but leave a section carbon fiber, so it can still be shown off? help me out !
Some people don't know this but the resin used with carbon fiber can be damaged by UV rays. It may bubble or crack after a while. If your car lives outside you should paint it.

mount it as is..take pics, if you don't like it, paint it
the C/F should look good with the CGM paint.
good deal for you anyway you look at it.

Yeah, it will look good for a while then the clear coat will start turning a yellowish and eventually start cracking/chipping from the sun exposure... You could always leave it the way it is and when it starts fading you can always sand it and paint it, that way you get carbon fiber for a while and painted for a while.
It'll take a couple years for it to start turning yellow, and it depends how often you're in the sun.

I would say paint the areas that will be in the sun and leave the rest unpainted... Like paint the top and leave the bottom... that way it won't get all yellow and crack and stuff AND no one would realize that it is carbon fiber until they take a closer look (ie. checking out your car) and they would be like "Whoa... it's CF"... and plus if it is painted it would be less likely to throw up red flags with the cops...
