Thanks for the comments guys! Yeah, Wingless Wonder is right. I didn't look at signs really, just kept driving straight once I turned on to Sir Francis Drake. I turned off where if you go straight, you go onto a different road, now that I think about it. So that must be Pierce Point Rd. Awesomely fun drive.

Miles, you didn't even give me the credit for saying what road it was. Don't worry the road has no sign at all on it.
My first time out there was about 12 years ago and just as i came over the crest while deep in fog there was a massive elk standing right in the road. It was a "spiritual" experience. or maybe "magical" is the word i'm looking for. I love it out there. plus the 10 mile hike out to the point is great.

That is one of my favorite drives....I go over Mt Tam via Bolinas Rd and then take that one-laner down to Highway 1 (Stinson), then take the road all the way out to Drake's beach or out to the lighthouse (can't do that anymore though).
