Vintage races this weekend, a very cool event to attend if you enjoy old technology up through the early 70's or so. I do. If you want to see some old Porsche 4-cam Carreras run around, take a ride to Sonoma this weekend.

August brings the Historics at Laguna. I was lucky enough to go in 1998 for the Porsche Parade. It was a weekend of sensory overload, especially standing next to a Team Gulf 917K warming up in the pits, listening to all of its titanium cam gears whining and the exhaust barking and smelling the leaded race fuel. Also met a number of drivers from the hey-day of Le Mans....Derek Bell, Hanns Hermman, Brian Redman, Jurgen Barth. I've heard the featured marque this year is Ferrari.
