Oil? Where do I check that? I usually just fill it up with a few quarts when I notice its not dripping out anymore.

That bad?

I check mine maybe once a month. There are too many signs that your motor is low on oil including a light that comes on in your instrument cluster. Oil doesnt just magically disappear. You would notice the puddle under your car or smoke out of your tailpipe/engine if you were leaking oil.

If it gives you peace of mind to check it before you get in the car daily, more power to you. Also you can get a oil pressure gauge installed if you're truly worried.

My Subaru would use about 1/2 qt every 3000 or so miles. My Gt500 hasn't had any loss of oil, getting ready for 2nd oil change.

I bought my sti from this cardinale dealership in seaside. NEVER I repeat NEVER will I buy a car frOm them... Took them 11 months to get my plates for my car cause they were so stupid.... My clutch went out a week and a half after I had my car... They refused to replace the clutch because they said I was either racing it or didn't know how to drive the car becAuse it "different" then other manual trannys.. It's a "real sport car" I had to buy a new fly wheel and clutch kit and my self then they installed it.. Cosmetic problems they never fixed... While detailing my car the " retailer" ****ed up my rear bumper with the buffing machine.. Looks like he over buffed it and burne the paint... Absolutely the WORST DEALERSHIP EVER!!!!

Yeah and we're definitely not the only ones with problems with them either. Urban_Grey_2.5 told me that his mom bought a Volvo from them before, and they failed to mention that the car was on fire and melted a lot of the wiring in the car.

Never do business with this dealership, ever.

I check about once a week because its well known these turbo subarus burn oil. I've had a non turbo 84 wagon GL, 02 WRX wagon and 04 STi.... all of them burned oil. My buddy has an 06 WRX with VF22/supporting mods and his burns oil too. Gotta keep an extra quart in the trunk just in case!

I know these cars should be burning a little oil, but I assume this isn't bad either. 07 WRX, tuned on a vf48 and 47k miles and I burn no oil at all. I check my oil every couple thousand or so. I have been running castrol syntec, edge, or german syntec ever since I was done with the break in period.

Pfff... amateur. If you're serious you check the oil once an hour. Even at night.
