My car got owned by bird crap... need help

So anyways, i was washing my car and came upon a spot that wouldnt wash off. It turns out that the spot is missing paint and exposing primer. I assume it was some bird crap that was left on my car for a month and baked in the hot summer heat. (i would have washed it off sooner, but i parked at dorms and my car was usually parked 1 mile away) The area has a rough texture and will flake off paint if rubbed hard. i just waxed it to try and protect it as much a possible, but do any of the i-clubbers here have some suggestions on how i should take care of this? perhaps i could pay one of the iclub detailers could fix it up and detail my car too? what do you guys think has to be done to fix something like this and how much money? Damn subaru paint... oh yea check out my hoodscoop too; i dont even know how the paint chipped off.

(The grayish white you see is primer, the rough looking blue is whats left of the paint. Non flash pic)

(whole statch about 3-4 inches)

If it has eaten through the paint, there's nothing you can do except repaint that part.
If there's still paint there you can try to polishing it. From what you described it sounds like it has eaten through the paint.

If the paint is pealing up then you can not save it with a good detail. You may just slow the process down with a good polish and wax, but wont be able to fix it. You can either get someone to wet sand the area, which is very hard for that size of an area, or repaint it. As far as the scoop, it is probably rocks being kicked up and you will need to repaint that also.
I would contact a body shop and just get a few quotes.
For the time being, just throw some wax on it to protect it.

I hate birds more than anybody else. Luckily, I park inside a garage all day, so I don't deal with it baking in the sun - however, bird poop has turned some spots on my car yellow (I have an Aspen White STi) and no amount of claybar will remove it (even with my fat almost pro detailing skillz - those that have seen my car can attest to this) - only time gets rid of it as it fades away per wash and wax. Speaking of which, it's almost time for another coat of wax on my car.

The best thing to do for bird poo or any other stains is to use a compound then follow with a polish then wax. You have to be careful with the compound because you can go right through the paint if you put to much pressure.
White cars look great, but are so hard to keep clean. I have an aspen white 06WRX.

yeah bird crap is very toxic and has to be washed off as soon as possible even with permaplate paint protection it can do some damage to the paint.
time for a new paint job looks like unless you want to chance a touch up they can just do a blend on that big spot and repaint the whole scoop.

if you are near mountain view stop by autobaun paint and body on yuba drive and see what they can do
they do great work

I like to wash away bird crap immediately just for this very reason... I dont like to leave it on there any longer than I can help it. Just keep some tissues in the car, and spit shine that stuff whenever you see it.
