Help Me!
Help Me!
Ok, so I'm doing english homework. I have to figure out these STUPID riddles and then explain why I chose the answer. I can't for the LIFE of me figure theses ones out. It's in the form of a poem.
no. 1: I am silver and exact. I have no preconceptions. whatever I see I swallow immediately. Just as it is, unmisted by love or dislike. I am not cruel, only truthful- The eye of a little god, four-cornered. Most of the time I mediate on the opposite wall. It is pink, with speckles. I have looked at it so long I think it is a part of my hear But it flickers. Faes and darkness spearate us over and over.
no. 2: Now I am a lake. A woman bends over me, searching my reaches for what she really is. THen she turns to those liars, the candles or the moon. I see her back, and reflect it faithfully. She rewards me with teacher and an agitation of hands. I am important to her. She comes and goes. Each morning it is her face that replaces the darkness. In me she has drowned a young girl, and in me an old woman. Rise toward her day after day, like a terrible fish.

Ok, here is the next one.
I am a riddle in nine syllables,
An elephant, a ponderous house,
A melon strolling on two tendrils.
O red fruit, ivory, fine timbers.
This loaf's big with its yeasty rising.
Money's new-minted in this fat purse.
I'm a means, a stage, a cow in calf.
I've eaten a bag of green apples,
Boarded the train there's no getting off.
