He also had a passenger who didn't want anything to do with the incident. The full story was on a tru tv special. I would have shot the tires out first. Getting on the hood was a dummy move however once on the hood and the car kept rolling, he unloaded to save himself. He got on the hood to make sure he shot the perp and not the passenger. Bottom line stupid but technically justified.

Who cares, he ran from the cops. Anyone stupid enough to do that deserves to get shot. Thats one less retard the rest of us have to deal with, good for the cops.

Now if only MORE criminals would end like that (as in dead) this world would be a much better place.

You're all a bunch of limp wristed nancy boys.
The suspect was a criminal, committing a crime, and got what he deserved.
The suspect posed a threat to the officers, the officer ordered him to stop, and the suspect continued on the path of destruction.
**** him.

If you are trying to get away from a police car, and maneuver such that you would ram the police car if it were to block your path...then you might as well be trying to ram the police car. The issue is the disregard for the officer's safety.

It is a police officers job to put himself in danger to apprehend a criminal in order to protect the rest of us. While perhaps not the wisest of moves for his own safety, getting on the hood of the car gave the driver of the car a clear choice to either stop, or harm the police officer. It also afforded the officer a clear shot of the driver without inadvertently hitting the passenger, who could have been a hostage or victim of some sort. If that were the case, then the officers actions could have saved the passenger from a violent death. As a police officer, you gotta make the split second decisions without the luxury of replaying a video of events to weigh the pros and cons.

A clean shooting.

I agree, but I do see the logical flaw that the cop is justified to shoot a driver if they are trying to ram them and they are fearing for their safety, it seems a little extreme to jump on the hood of the car like rambo, I mean if he was in danger why jump on the hood like a maniac!

still they didn't seem to be stopping, but they should have just rammed the **** out of their car, bust an axle and wheel of with that pushbar.

that was straight out of a movie.

Guy probably would saved himself some grief had he taken a shot from the side, not thru the beast windshield, he wouldn't have looked like a nutso.

Well, yes...they should have rammed the crap out of that car. But then you risk injury to the passenger. And yes, it would have "looked better" if he shot from the side, but then he could have hit the passenger. Now if the passenger was an unwilling participant in the events, then that would have really been bad. What if the passenger was his pregnant girlfriend...then the officer could have potentially killed 3 people, two of which were innocent of any wrongdoing.

Just saying that I can see why he made that choice. Right choice?? It is debatable...but by no means was shooting the driver unjustified.

Looking at the way how he was driving, it is well justified. Take him out before he kills somebody with his car.
