BBC News - Norway hit by deadly bomb and shooting attacks

From the site stan posted:

NRK is reporting that an unknown group called "Helpers of the Global Jihad" have posted a message that this is only the beginning of the reaction to Norwegian periodicals publishing the Muhammed cartoons, according to Andrew Boyle, a journalist in Norway.

Quoted for truth.

Just because there are some extremist fanatics who claim to be in a certain religion/group, doesn't mean everyone in that religion/group thinks and does the same things.

It truly is a shame.

Let's not blame large groups of people/demographics and rather focus on the problem...

Well I believe Norway should do what the USA did. Throw down some TSA, look at everyone who aren't Muslim, turn face and pretend nothing happened. Of course none of them are TERRORISTS after all, just some other incident... SO HOW MANY PEOPLE WILL DIE UNTIL SOMEONE SAYS THE ****ING MOST OBVIOUS STATEMENT.

Muslim Fanatics are really ****ing it all up for everyone. What turds.

The shooter was arrested by Norwegian SWAT at the youth camp (where at least 10 are confirmed dead and there are unconfirmed reports that there are 20-30 dead). The Norwegian government and police have identified him as a 32 year old ethnically Norwegian man. No word on motives yet, or if he was working with an extremist Muslim group, with a neo-**** extremist group or by himself or whatever. Its late in the night in Europe, and we probably won't find out more until tomorrow.

Thought it is obviously not "one **** up" your point is well taken.

I'll have to stand up again and say this: I am a Muslim. Every Mulsim I know personally, in this country and in other countries, denounce "Islmic" terroists. The majority of Mulsims in the world denounce "Islamic" terrorists.

These extremists are just using religion as an excuse. The same thing has been done with almost every religion in the past. Yes, there is a significant number of people that have twisted Islam to suit their ideologies.

No, I do not know how Islam as a whole can turn the extremists around to see that they are perverting the teachings, nor do I know how I, for one, can make people believe that Islam is, indeed a peaceful religion. Terrorism goes against what I have read/been taught.

The fact is, these terrorists and the media have tied them so tightly with Islam, that people don't see the difference between extremists and mainstream.

Estimates say there are somewhere around a billion Muslims in the world. Even a small percentage of these extremist ****s is a ton of people, I know, but they are the MINORITY.

Hopefully me saying SOMETHING will make a difference, however little. I honestly doubt me saying anything will change anyone's mind, but whatever. People always say that they never hear Muslims coming out against all of these attacks. I'll say this - terrorists get a lot more press than people denouncing them.

bleh... flame me if you want.

:edit - It's nice to see some level headed posts. It's refreshing.

What is the problem, then?

But you're a mad tyte JDM Muslim, yo!

Human nature dictates stereotyping/grouping good folks with those that aren't so good.

Look at insurance: my car insurance is based on the actions of many, not my own actions.

Until the majority of peaceful followers of Islam kill off the extremists (yes, I see the irony of that statement), y'all got a hell of a bad rep.

Err.. you mean the Oklahoma city bomber. I am sure that Mcvay gets pissed off every time someone give the Unabomber credit for his work.

The Unabomber blew up mail boxes... Mcvay took down a Federal building.
