More Livermore Subaru Horror
After they fixed my clutch shudder on the TSB (took them two times to get the right parts in it), I noticed a slight rattle. I thought it was the dash (I had replaced the cabin air filter) so I took the glove box out to search for the rattle. Couldn't find it.
The rattle went away...
...to be replaced by the noise of something metal loose under the car. Not loud, but with the windows down you could tell something was vibrating.
So I take it over to the fine people at MPJ (my jack broke and I am lazy). I had guessed that an exhaust heat shield was loose. Up on the lift, the exhaust is fine. As we go aft... the problem appears.
One of the two bolts that holds the pillow block for the drive shaft support bearing (the M250043 bolt shown here) is gone. Not loose, gone. The other one is loose. The noise was the drive shaft flopping around, banging the pillow block into the underbody. I figure the rattling was when the remaining bolt was tight, then it turned into the more "clanging" noise when the remaining bolt came loose.
So the kind mechanic (I don't know his name, it's the older guy with the mustache) puts a new bolt in, and it looks good. There was no visible damage.
But this is ridiculous. It would have been dangerous and expensive if the shaft had come adrift. All because Livermore Subaru forgot to tighten a bolt when they dropped my trans.
Like I said it looks like no obvious damage, but I am still under the 60,000 mile powertrain warranty. Any ideas on the best way to address this with the dealer or SOA? I want to make sure that if there is even the slightest problem with the shaft, bearing, transaxle, or rear diff, that Subaru takes care of it as being the result of their own mistake. On the other hand I'm not sure I want Livermore Subaru ever touching my car again. They are now 0 for 2.

FUNKED, make a report of it, so that if something ever does happen you can point back to that report and say hey it happened.
If you don't the dealership and tech will both deny that ever happening, and you will be SOL

I will say I've never really had a bad experience there. But lately it seems like they've been trying to talk me into stuff. For example, I went to get my oil changed there and the guy tried to talk me into a some 150 dollar service. I told him the online schedule only said an oil change. And he just tells me well, it's different online.
And I don't know if that guy Eric still works at Service but he was super cool.

i took mine in for detanation and syncro replacement and they basically blew me off with the detantion and said deal with it and then the syncro's were fixed. so as im driving home after not having my car for nearly 3 weeks.when i woulds boost it sounded as if i had an external waster gate. and the car would shake around 45k and then the cel was flashing not on but flashing i was almost home when that happend so i got home and checked everything out.couldn't find anything.so i was like ok ill take it back on monday(this was friday) and i was lookngi for a torn vac line or something like that.my buddy came over and was looknig at it and they left the clamp loose that connects the manifold and intercooler.
