Mechanic Help, Non -Subaru..
Hey Guys, We have a 2001 Lincoln Navigator in the Family with little over 90K miles. We have had it for a while, think its about to bite the bullet.
Heres the issue, when I come to a stop or red light sometimes the car shuts off..I have to restart it quickly. Any Ideas on what could be the issue?
Heres what has been changed/done:
-Fuel System Cleaning
-New Battery
-New Spark Plugs
TIA, What should I be looking for?

Don't know if this would help but my brother had the a similar problem in his Lincoln Mark 8 he would have to hold the gas when coming to a complete stop to prevent it from.shutting off. And his problem was that the cats where bad and clogged up. He replaced those and it fixed his problem

Clogged cats usually cause lack of power, misfires, back-firing.
Im no Ford/Lincoln expert but maybe idle control valve is stuck closed/clogged? If its controlled by an electric throttle body as most new cars are (German at least) then it could still be dirt and needs a cleaning and recalibrating.
I'd say if you can, check fault codes. Even if the MIL isnt on there could be some stored faults, and if your scan tool is decent it will have "Freeze Frame Data" which are basic parameters listed at the time of the fault. Look if anything seems out of the ordinary...or post them up here.

check IACV, air filter, spark plugs for fouling, TIMING, myabe the fuel filter and or pump? but it wouldnt make sense that it would stop working only at stops.

Hopefully they cleaned the throttle body when they did the fuel cleaning but likely didnt. Clean your throttle body real good and report back results. You can use power foam and a rag to do it. Is it throwing a CEL?
