Morning commutes in Japan can be brutal on certain train/subway lines. In all the times I've been there though I haven't seen the white gloved "pushers" jamming people into trains.

 

I saw that when I was in Japan. Pretttty crazy

Dude, I'm surprised that a civilized nation like Japan would do crap like that!

 

its that they want to be on time to work

if not they are screwed


so when the train is full there is no "ill get the next one and be 5 mins late"

 

Luckily I wasn't going on that line, otherwise that's exactly what I would be thinking.

Think of trying to fit 1/2 of the U.S. population into California (which is still bigger than Japan) and everyone has to get to work at the same time.

 

it's a custom there. I thin that may be japan? anyway my dad loves trains and says they use to use sticks back in the day instead of pushing with their hands. LOL. brutal.

yeah trains there can get a bit crowded but the shoving in thing only happens on a couple of the morning trains into Tokyo central station. For as many times as Ive been Ive never seen this happen. That said, I did get stuck on a morning train that came pretty close to this, was not fun.

 

Just like a bunch of sardines. That is nuts.

 

This **** is crazy, they have NO sense of personal space...
