Cal Train.... Cleaning up the Homeless one train at a time..

Caltrain trains were delayed up to 50 minutes after a person was struck and killed by a train in Palo Alto Tuesday morning, the second Caltrain fatality in less than 24 hours, a spokeswoman said

A northbound Caltrain train fatally struck the person around 8:25 a.m. near East Meadow Drive, according to spokeswoman Mary Knuckles.

As of about 9 a.m., trains were single-tracking on the southbound tracks around the crash, Knuckles said.

Just wait till the high speed train comes to town. We will really clean up then.....

Last year, there must have been 1 or 2 a month. I was just telling myself how this year it's been a lot slower for suicides and/or idiots on CalTrain tracks, but I guess 2 in 2 days makes up for that pretty quickly...

Any chance we can reroute the train down O'Farrell and then right onto 6th St?

If they are dumb enough to get hit by a train... well its a service to this country that the train is good enough to run them down.

Don't worry, I'd feel the same way if any of you guys (who share the mentality that homeless people getting killed is a cool) were to get killed in a car wreck, from reckless driving.

Anyone who is on the train tracks is equally as deserving of getting hit by a train as is a reckless driver to get into a wreck.

This kind of stuff shouldn't be made fun of. Homeless or not it was a person. It's sad that they have to resort to running in front of trains because our country would rather help others that are in poverty instead of cleaning it up here.

Of you think it's amusing then there is seriously something wrong

I take the train to work all the time. If it is truly an accident I have sympathy for the person. But if the person committed suicide, then no sympathy from me.

I have yet to be on the train that hits someone, but my wife has (she took the train to the city for work for two years). It screws up everyone's schedule. Imagine if you were the conductor, emergency crew or a bystander that saw it.

Oh stop. There are extensive homeless outreach programs in almost every city across this country. There is little excuse to be homeless, ESPECIALLY in CA.

I used to use the capital train from east bay to sac everyday few years back. Yeah we used to hit stuff all the time. Horse trailers, People, Shopping carts. Each time we did it was good for at least an hour delay on the side of the tracks. Late to work and then some.

The title was not ment to offend anyone.

But if your that down on your luck, seek help or the nearest bridge. Least then you jump from a bridge you dont tie up traffic for hours on end from your thoughtless actions.

No better then the guy that parked his SUV in front of the train and killed all those people in LA while the engineer was sexting on his phone. Do you guys feel the same way then?....................?

Well I was being a dick, but my point was it sad that people live such a meager life and then to be hit by a train, not that its a good thing we are getting rid of the homeless. Obviously I don't like smelly people that harass me for money all the time but their lives seem more of a tragedy than half the **** i hear on the news. That being said I understand you just made a post and its not really that big of a deal, heh.

I have less sympathy if it was an accident... there is only one place you can possabably get hit by a train.
It's not a hard thing to avoid
