Hardcore Mac guy here. How much RAM do you have and how old is the machine? Is your FF up to date? You can reinstall it and see if that works. Use Foxmarks to save your bookmarks first though.

I just replaced my old MBP with the new version. Still getting used to the trackpad but it is quite zippy.

Bump for DeskLickr

Flickrize your desktop!

We all love Flickr right? And if you're anything like me, you probably change your Desktop image more than you change your underwear!

Well thats where DeskLickr comes in, it's this tiny little tool that sits in your menu bar making sure your Desktop is as sexy as can be.

DeskLickr grabs all its Desktop images from Flickr, while giving you all the options to grab photos from your profile, tag searches or even the DeskLickr group filled with hand selected Desktop goodness!

So start keeping your Mac sexy the easy way!

you're right, being way more prone to a virus is a great thing. Most people just use their computers for internet/email/pictures/videos/pr0n.

so what difference does it make?

lol and do you know why PC's get more viruses? because our market is bigger. 90% of the world uses PC's. why would virus writers want to target such a small market that is only 10% of the world? what fun would that be to infect such little number of computers. therefore PC's are the more popular majority. the only reason mac fanboys can brag about not gettin viruses and all that crap is because their market isnt as popular nor big yet, thats y they have to compensate by selling their products wayy over priced.

but dont worry, your time will come. MAC's will eventually get more popular because of the whole "i" movement. once it reaches a certain mark, viruses writers will start making viruses for you mac ppl too. then fun will ensue when mac fanboys be running in the streets on fire because their armagedon has come.

so if u dont want viruses, dont brag about ur mac and dont tell anyone else to get a mac.

My old G4 started doing this and I was seeing the beachball of death for a while, and a friend did something... which I cannot remember to re-allocate resources somehow and it's been great ever since. You have any idea what I am talking about? I will have to see what he did...

I am working on getting a new MBP 15" soon as I am completely sold after spending a year or so with my G4.

Does this thread say mac haters come and give me your 2 cents? No. Do you have any input on fixing the issue stated? No. So, GTFO.

It used to be that you could choose how much of your resources was sent to individual programs. Doesn't really work like that anymore.

funny part is i primarily run linux, i use mac on a laptop.
believe me i understand the situation with the marketshare i was saying that reasoning back when i was a mac hater. then i saw how much better macs worked over all and said "**** it, it'll be at least 10yrs or more before apple even comes close to windows market share"

the funniest part is, it's actually easier to **** a macs day up. the security on a mac absolutely sucks and its entire "security" relies on it maintaining a medium to low market share.

i could find an article somewhere, where they ran insane tests on osx, ubuntu, windows, openbsd, freebsd and mac got owned hard even by windows vista.

but point is right now that is very unlikely to happen in the real world. because a mac does not have nearly as much virus' floating around.
