transmit, emit... potato, potAto...
anyways, since i understand it is UNDER the fur/skin, it has to give out something since the scanner cannot go through it. so if you find the freuquency these chips are giving out, you can use a scanner and just walk around dogs and see if you can find their number... lol ... just like wardriving...

and the chip only gives out a number. the vet then goes to the KCA for the info...
anycase... bumpy for LUMPY!

Good luck finding the puppy, he's a cutey. BTW, I used to work for the SPCA, and yes the chip is a must have. You would not believe how many dogs/cats were either spared from euthanasia or reunited with their owners due to the chip. So there is a good chance that he will be found, just hope some jacka$$ doesn't decide to keep him for themselves!
