Looking for a lenient Smog Check place

Looking for a lenient smog check place in the east bay. Took my car originally to a local shop and it passed everything except for the "visual inspection" because of my boost gauge? wtf?

don't want a headache. just want to get in and get out. let me know. thanks

boost gauge shouldnt fail you... unless they saw the vacuum hose for it then thats why they failed you :-)

And what Heedz said!

I had the same issue. I took out the "t" where the guage gets its reading from and installed a coupler to pass the visual.

turns out it failed the "visual inspection" for not only the boost gauge but also the replaced turbo back exhaust.

does this mean I have to put back the original exhaust before I get the next smog test? Any shops that could save me this hassle?

PM me the names if you have some so this thread wont get locked

You can pass with just your stock dp but if you have the time just change to the stock turbo back, less hassle. just don't boost it till you change it back unless you're on an accessport.

Yeah easiest thing to do. Didn't get questioned what so ever. Although the topmount is legal and the intake has a carb sticker so. Passed with flying colors even with the rich running tune.
