King of Thai (like, 6 branches in S.F.) is a great Thai "street food" kinda cafe at its best, but each branch can be really inconsistent. Plus, the cooking staffs at each branch rotate every quarter or so, so that adds to the inconsitency. It's mostly noodles (fried and soup), curry, rice dishes, sides, etc. as opposed to entrees, know what I mean?
Siam Noodle Cafe on Geary and 4th in S.F. is great! But unfortunately, they've been closed for the last 4 months now, thanks to some pinhead that drove his car through the front door and into the restaurant
Remodel should be done anytime now.

Marnee Thai on Irving in SF is supposed to be pretty good. Tiny mom and pop kind of place. Tons of awards and reviews hanging in their window and always a long line outside.
King of Thai is a pretty good chain in SF as well. Low prices and open very late.
Also, check out Osha Thai located on Levinsworth (sp?) street in the Tenderloin in SF. Very good place, open late and low prices.
There are tons of Thai places in the Bay Area, so the only way you can find the places you like is to actually go try them out!

Marnee is quite good... if you can stand teh wait for dinner... sometimes it can take almost an hour to get seated on a Fri. or Sat. night.

Marnee Thai's quality has dropped IMHO. The lines got longer, the prices went up, the food quality went down. It's okay now IMHO. And from what I've heard, you want to avoid Marnee Thai #2 on 9th @ Irving and Lincoln AT ALL COSTS.

The food was good and the waitress was gorgeous.
I asked for an 8 on the spicy scale and the food wasnt as spicy as I thought it would be. I ordered the Waterfall Beef.
