making steady progress, at least for the parts, ordered up a set of conversion hubs to run 4X100 wheels, stock pattern is 4X3.75, only triumphs and fiat X13s run these, so you can imagine my wheel choices

plan to run rota RBs royal gunmetal perfect match for the paint, 15X7" with 195/45/15s all around

cool, the rotas arent bad at all...better than panasport IMO but i like minilites the most since they have a circular center when the panasport looks more webbed around the lugs

Could be wrong as it's been a while for the Toy stuff for me.

Looking awesome either way!!
Much Progress happening quickly.

nope, doing the T50, just looked up those W58/W50s on Wiki, seems they are heavier than the T50s. Out of the Celica/Supras so Im sure they would handle more power but the T50s are lighter and fine for a 4age

Adam at LIC is putting together a 4.44 R160 rear end with a clutch LSD for me, I just need to pic up some Datsun 240Z axles to mate it to my rear hubs. and I just picked up these wheels tires, couldnt pass up a deal on these old school Vector machined/gunmetal 13X6 wheels with 225 race hoosiers on them for $150, so thats what Im going to run for now

Cool. For some reason I thought the T50 was the heavier truck trans, but if it's the Rolla unit then yea - it should be lighter I guess. The W58 is great because you can find it in say an '82 Celica GT but it was also used in the Supras and people have had good luck sticking them behind 1UZ-FE's and such too so it's beefy enough. The only great thing about the W50 is it's got better ratios, but I broke mine fairly quickly and went on to put something like 5k on-track miles on the W58 so I dunno. If you ever need any Toy help, check out the "Old Celica Club" mailing list. Some really nice people who know TONS about old Toys, what fits what and everything else.

Those wheels look nice!! That car is gonna rock! Love the 4AGE even though I have never owned one. I seriously want another car project but I need a garage first. I really want another 1st gen Celica.

Hey, i have a 72 240z sitting in the garage, its getting a lsx swap with an r230 from a 300zxtt with matching dogbones. So.... if you need some 240z axles let me know, and they are yours free
I also have some old school Konig's, gunmetal with a polished lip, 14" if you want. I'm going to a 5 bolt style and have no use for them

The axles are ready whenever you want them. Instead of the R160, I have the R180 out of my Z you could take off my hands too. As for the wheels I mentioned, they are exactly what those rota's you posted are, but in 14x7 with -9 offset. Let me know, I'm trying to make room in the garage!

I'm still up in SR. You live in the city now? I usually make it down there every wed night and hang out with my sister @ Union/Laguna, I can bring the stuff with me.

yeah ne and greg got the spitty into the back of Uhaul today in a most ghetto-fabulous fasion. See greg I told you we could load a car into the back of a uhaul using just 2X4s, tie down straps, and an assortment of tires

Next stop GST where the motor is waiting.

Also picked up a set of miata coilovers, they can be converted to work, though they will need a nit lighter springs, even the first gen miatas were 5-600 pounds heavier than this car
