And most people have drinken and driven in their lives. I have, maybe 5 times maximum...and I am not proud of it, whatsoever.
The last time was in Tokyo (Roppongi)...about 3 years ago...I drove home, 50KM at like 120 miles per hour...that was the stupidest thing that I ever did. I was not busted, but I realized that is way not cool. I will never do it again.
I agree...even 1 drink, and you shouldn't be on the road.
No sacwagon, I am not banking on my statement, because I don't drink and drive, but...when you sign for your license, you basically are signing that you will submit to a BAC test when ordered to by a peace officer. So, in refusing to do so, you lose your license for an automatic 6 months. How are they going to convict you of a DUI if they have no evidence? A good lawyer can, and will, tear it to shreads in court.
You should refuse all tests though...including that damn "Follow my pen without moving your head while I shine this bright *** Mag light into your pupils in the middle of the night" routine (Yes, I have been subjected to that B.S....even though I was stone sober). That is how they get you...BTW...your evey "Jump" instead of following it with a fluid motion.
Enough from my long-winded ***!

I thought it was some yuppie dude trying to show off his Super Charged grandma car to his buddy...It was in the yuppie part of Sacramento (Laguna West, where I used to live).
I am stupid, but not that stupid. The emergency lighting was behind the grill...2 strobes, and 2 cherries...

Fines alone will cost you like $3500, then you have to figure in 5 years of DUI insurance...oh my god man...not to mention the mandatory night that you have to spend in Jail...

dude, there are so many rules that cops have to follow to get you convicted for a speeding ticket that you've got to believe there's no way they can legitimately do anything except hassle you if they pull you over in a totally unmarked car with no gov't plates. don't freak out, just drive smart.

they are right
Get an Attorney I got busted for DUi underage in colorado as did several of my friends I put up th e "highest" score I was also the only one who went with and attoreny who had me plead to technically more severe charges of reckless drive, speeding and running a stop sign.
totaling 16 points against my license, DUI was only 8 lost my license briefly (till trial) had hellacious insurance billthat caused me to stop driveing for 6 months, then had probationary period of 6 months for insuance , but it all went away in 12months and I dont have the DUI stigma on my record. this is why we pay attourneys

they said the DA office wont even negotiate on anything more than .11 said a .16 is ridiculous
basicly they said that the best they can do for me is delay the inevitable and show up to court for me so i dont have to go.
thats not really worth the $1500 they charge me.
SacWagon chalkin another one up to stupidity
and yeah Steppin Razor, i will post up all the bad that comes of this so hopefully no other i-clubbers will fall.

Meaning an umarked car or a plain clothes officer can not issue you a traffic citation.
The only time an umarked/plain clothes can stop you is when you are being pursued for another crime (ie theft) or if they believe you are in the process fo commiting a crime (crime not including traffic violation).
This is described in the VC 40804.
Thought you might find this interesting.

I've got to hand it to you though, it took a lot of ***** to come clean and own up to what you did in front of a forum of your peers. I have a feeling you won't be making the same mistake twice.Cheers, Joe
