Local defensive driving school?
Looks like auto insurance give a discount for people who have completed "defensive driving schools". I'm guessing HDPE's don't count.
What places in the bay area (prefer south bay) do defensive driving courses?
I want it for both safety as well as the discount.

...expense will never again enter your mind.
The lessons I learned (long, long ago) from the driving school I attended have saved my life on numerous occasions, so the investment is definitely well worth it.
well, i've never been to one so I don't know how it compares. but i used be autox, rallyx, tsd rally (damn it was fun, thanks to Pete), road track (LOVE Infineon), and go kart pretty darn regularly. I would like to think I know my car, just that I am DAMN SLOW.
I am only interested in doing this for pure insurance purpose...
but I do agree with you... just that I am cheap... there were countless time on hwy17 where I could have ended up in a bad fix if it wasn't for all the seat time.
I think driving school can only teach you so much. I think you need to be able to sense it early and correct it subconsciously. If you have to do it consciously, I think it's too late or usually over correct.

Yeah, for most of us who do autox, track, rallyx, etc... we probably would know 95% of what's being taught. But until you're "certified" by one of these classes, insurance won't give you the discount.
