Exclamation little problem

hi guys ,
i had a question ....
i have a check engine light on and when i put my DriveRight Car Chip in the car it tell me the Code PO420 and thats (CATALYST SYSTEM EFFICIENCY BELOW THRESHOLD) can some one tell me if this is a major problem with the car ? or how can i get it fixed ? and also how does this happnes ..... is it cost lot of money to fix it .. so guys if u can help me out here with the info that would be great.

What is a drive rite chip? That's probably your first mistake.

Its a low buck Scan tool specific to a manuf.

and screw it inbetween your rear 02 sensor and your downpipe.

do you have a cat or has it been removed?
if its removed you need the CEL fix as stated above from vibeeleven
if not just go back to stock and get a real tune

if your car is stock, take it to a dealer. the emissions system is covered for like 8 years
