Hey slow04wrx, what actually happened?
Just take it easy once in a while. I run full steam too. Till two-three weeks ago I almost ended up dead. I pushed myself too hard and when I should have gone to the doctor for a sore throat. I didnt. I almost blacked out at the fremont go-cart subie meet. Walked to my car and sat for a bit. After drinking a mt dew I was fine. But I passed it off and waited till two weeks ago and when till I dropped at work.

I went to the doc. He rushed me over to the ER and I had to hangout there for a few days with a I.V. Seems my sore throat, swelled my neckup bad, slowed my breathing then hit my blood stream and almost killed me. My blood sugar hit 53 on the meter I had to take a week and a half off. Doctor enforced.. Even at home I wanted to do things but people stopped me from doing so.

I came back to work with a whole new light...

In fact I can't even slow down when I'm on vacation from my job, I usually pick up side work because I hate being bored.

Nor did I specifically mention him losing a job. The main point I was going for was to put things in perspective for the op. I'm sorry you found my advice as empty B.S., you must be the most successful person in the history of the world. Don't worry, this wont be a back & forth issue....you can claim the "I'm the best poster on i-club" award for the day.

Hey slow04wrx, what actually happened?
definitely not the best post... that goes to krinkov and the motivational poster.
haaaaaa.

And apparently I'm lazy and have a poor work ethic.

And yes its good to give a good old pep talk.

I got laid off in 01 due to the .com bubble bust. Thank god I've surpassed where I was back then. One thing I learned from the ordeal is the importance of contingency. Back then, it never occurred to me. But now, I have Plan B, Plan C, Plan D etc. That which doesn't destroy you will strengthen you

I hear ya... I've been having the roughest 3 months of my life.

The latest update is:

For the last 3+ weeks I've had EXTREME nausea to the point where I've had to miss work, can't keep ANYTHING including fluids down. Had a lot of tests run by the doctor with inconclusive results. It started scaring me because it wasn't going away and if anything it was just getting worse. I had taken a day off work last week due to the nausea, I was EXTREMELY dehydrated due to the vomiting and inability to keep solids or fluids down to save my life...

That day I decided to walk downstairs to get some water because I was sooooo thirsty, but had problems drinking without vomiting. As I attempted to walk down my stairs (12 stairs and tile floor at the bottom) I blacked out due to the illness and found myself regaining consciousness at the bottom of my stairs with a huge head injury, hyper-extended shoulder, and sprained wrist. The latter two injuries didn't concern me, the head injury did. When I regained consciousness I was so dizzy that I couldn't see the numbers on my phone and couldn't stand up on my own... I was in a GREAT amount of pain and was rushed to the hospital where they told me that my brain was potentially swollen and that they needed to do a catscan/xray IMMEDIATELY. Spent the night in the hospital before they gave me my entire prognosis, which was a very intense concussion which resulted in a lot of pain, tremors, dizzyness, and insane headaches. I was so weak from the nausea from the prior 3 weeks that when I first got to the hospital I didn't think I was going to make it... I felt so weak and have never had a head injury like that before that I was FREAKED out and could only think about the worst case scenario and couldn't stop thinking of my family.

It was scary as hell and I'm paying the price for it right now... I can't really drive, can't work, and feel like an elderly man.

My sister is due to give birth in 2 weeks and thats all I could think about at the hospital... I did NOT want to leave this world and do that to my family... You never realize how valuable life is until you think you're about to lose it.

Oh, the way I hit my head was gnarly. I first hit a corner of a wall right near my temple before I slammed it on the tile floor... or so I think thats what happened since I dented the corner of the wall. I have no idea how long I was out for, but think it was a few mins at least... Ive NEVER been knocked out like that before...

Anyway, long story short, Ive had a really crappy 3 months, but the last 4 weeks have been the worst!

I can't even drive my baby right now

To top it all off, last month some big truck or SUV slammed into my front fender of my Subie while I was parked and at work... Of course they didnt leave a note or anything so I have to replace my fender and bumper... I know it was a truck because the damage was higher up. Bastards! I wish I could have witnessed it, I would have pulled a paul@dbtuning and skinned them alive!

But as you can see, worst 3 months EVER.

EDIT: Last week, I started getting intense pain on my big toe, turns out its an ingrown toenail which will have to be pulled off with surgery! WTF! Could anything else happen!?
