Bumping this thread!!!

So I went into Stevens Creek this week to buy new suby and I was trying to get the car for at least 500 below invoice. Well that didn't happen and they kinda made me feel like I was a cheap *** for not taking up their first offer (Full Price). I hear other dealerships are offering below invoice prices without any haggle. Is this true?

Anyone else having a hard time getting below invoice from their dealer?

the 'internet sales guy' at the dealership usually will be someone you can work a deal with. had Jason @ Albany Subaru shoot me a decent offer that I'm converting from a "lead" to an "opportunity" and hopefully closing this month.

71 reviews, 1.5 stars, and thats counting a few 5 star reviews by people that somehow snuck out of there unbruised or BS ones they planted to offset the bad ones.

Wow... I wish Zero Stars were an option!
that about sums it up.

Now that is something to be pissed about. That's why I like email and an iPhone though. "Oh really? Well let's see what you said this morning."

I bought my car from them in July with no problems other than that it took almost 4 months to get my plates. Not sure if thats their fault or the DMVs fault

Not sure about haggling, it all depends on the market. If the dealer is moving a lot of cars they are going to charge a lot. If no one is buying then they will start to make a deal.

When I was hunting for my car, I went to all the dealerships in the area Stevens Creek, Capitol, and Santa Cruz.

Santa Cruz wouldn't work with me because I wanted to take advantage of the C.A.R.S. program and that kinda got me disappointed because Santa Cruz was at the top of my list, I have gone to them before with my old Suby and they were awesome.

So I rolled to Capitol. I checked out on of there '09 WRX Premiums that they have on the lot. Took it for a test drive, the car was nice and I really liked it. As we are on the drive the salesman notices that the gas is pretty low so we go to a gas station to fill up and they guy fills it up with 87! I asked him about it and he said that he forgot he was supposed to put in 91 but it would be ok.

Later I start talking to them about the price and they straight-up tell me that I can get a better deal at Stevens Creek. At the time, I had no intentions to go to Stevens Creek and I was rather appalled to see them pushing away business.

The next day, I check their inventory online and it showed that they had a DGM Hatch, so I intended on going over there and buying it. Got to the lot and the car wasn't there. They game me all this BS that they would get it and such, but if the car is not on the lot there is nothing for me to buy, I am not going to buy a car if it is not on the lot. At that point I was done with Capitol. They were nice, but they are clearly not in the business of selling cars.

later that same day, I head out to Stevens Creek. They have one gold hatch left on the lot. A few hours after taking it for a test drive, the keys are in my hand and I am driving home in a brand new Subaru. And the rest is history.

The key here is to notice that this thread is 5 years old. Things have changed since then.

That's DMV, I would blame it on them being backed up with all the people who bought cars through the C.A.R.S. program. I kept my vanity plates from my previous car when I got my Suby in August. I just had to wait for the reg before i could put them on and that took less than 2 months.

i got my car at stevens creek subaru. was kind of a pain in the ***, but they eventually gave me what i wanted. they did tricks like lowering the price of the new car but increasing the price of my trade-in by the same amount, and then called me "smart" for noticing. i'm a real sharp one with them addings and subtractings.

The Subaru in San Rafeal is pretty good about everything. Can't say the same for the Subaru in Oakland. They have had my car going on 5 WEEKS now. Not happy about that.
