if you get a non 120hz model, you'll save a couple hundred bucks.

check slick deals for good prices
Wow, that's a great price. Where did you get your tv at?

That sounds too environmentally friendly. Isn't that what they load into those new Prius cars?

I was aiming at darks because on lights obviously you see everything, but in darks, some of the dark images just end up being nothing... kinda like if you had the border while watching a movie, then it gets dark. And it just looks like the border is apart of the movie, and blended in. You can't see the things going on in the dark, it just blends in with the border. With a good darks, you should see what it supposed to be seen during movies.

If you're a sports kinda guy, then any kinda TV should work, but for movies/dvd's. Definitely get a good Dark TV. Plasmas are handsdown probably better than LCDs, but are more expensive, and break easier I think. LCDs is the bang for the buck.

Samsung is good except that it has the highest rates of minor call backs for things to be fixed.

Agreed. Plasmas are definitely better than LCD for watching movies. You really notice the difference when you look at the darker colors on the screen. Plasma is noticeably sharper and clearer.

However, I have a cheapo Vizio 32" LCD TV in my office that works just fine. I'm happy with it.

I got a Samsung 32" 1080p tv. I like the picture because it's very clear especially when I watch blu-ray videos. The sd channels also looks great on this tv and that makes me even more happier. Finding the best LCD TV for the budget can be so tiresome if you don't have the necessary resources at hand.
