Arrow Installing Invidia Downpipe - Any advice?

FYI - I already searched many times on installing downpipes in general but i am looking for fresh input...

Im installing my Invidia downpipe this coming thursday and was wondering if you guys had any tips/advice to give to me before i do this. I've never installed a downpipe before and I expect its gonna take a while... I already went to auto zone and bought a can of liquid wrench... and i remember reading somewhere that i should drive the car onto blocks and let it sit on them overnight to let the engine fully cool... do you guys have any more advice to give to me? it would be greatly appretiated - thanks

- before you go to bed the night before the install, spray all studs, nuts and bolts with that solvent

- wake up earlier than you are planning

- wrenches with ratcheting action are your friend.

Thumbs down

Call Invidia and check if you have a good one.. I know They had a bad batch just recently where the DP was hitting the trans crosmember. My friend Asked them about that @ Sema and they told him he would have to cut and bent the tranny crossmember!!! I had one and I returned it. My friend bought 3 for his shop and they all were bad. AFter that he said he will never buy and INVIDIA product again.
I think it was highly unprofessional of them so say something like that!!!!!

I got a TXS and I am happy

I just installed my cusco dp 3 days ago. Make sure you have a ratcheting 14mm wrench and some good sockets, a can of wd-40, and about an hour to an hour and a half to do it. It took me about an hour and 40 minutes but i also put on my exhaust. Theres nothing special to note, but you dont have to take out the intercooler like some people say and the heat shield comes off real easy. Make sure you have a new DP gasket and maybe some washers incase it has trouble sealing. other than that you should be good. Let me know how it goes.
