if you consider their tickets are up over $70 now that's the real rediculous part of it.

Snow sports are beginning to be for only the rich again. Seriously. How many families can afford say... for 2 days.
4 adult lift tickets... nearly $300.
say 8 child lift tickets...$150 assuming one is a teen and one younger
Toss in gas from say san jose... $100 plus.
Snacks and food for a couple days $200
Then toss in lodging at $500 plus.

That's for a two day ski trip for 2 adults and 2 kids....$1200.

Seriously..WTF.

If you go regularly. $529 is 8 days to pay it off.

Shoot bear valleys is up to $499 and their day passes are under $50. Have to go 11 days to pay for it.

For a guy that works 5 days a week and isn't rich I generally go quite a bit. 20-40 days a year. But last year I got like 6. So if it's another crappy year and you only go a hand full of times you can be SCREWED. quick.

Skiing is getting strait rediculous these days.

$1200 weekends. $1000 a person for gear. Racks are another $600.

Rich's man's game.

It used to be a lot easier. $200-300 season passes. $40-50 tickets EVERYWHERE>

You are right it's just lame b/c I know blackout days=good weekends so I will want those, where if I didn't get em I could pay 120 less.

I use to pay way less, last year I got my adult early full value for 379 group buy. SOOKS Its 529 now

what sucks is the snow is getting worse and worse so prices get higher and higher due to lost profits.

I was at Kirkwood yesterday. It was ridiculously icy. They had a handful of runs open and the lift ticket was $55. Saw a black 08 WRX in the parking lot.

Kirkwood's been the best for years now, both because of the terrain and because it was so isolated and uncrowded. Now that they built all those condos and hotels along the main road, they're increasing the crowds and, now, the price of lift tickets. Sucks, but I suppose they consider this progress.

that sucks. before the kids, my wife then gf, we were up there almost every weekend. even on the busy holiday weekends were still better than a normal day at flatstar.

HELLO we are talking about KIRKWOOD!?! they are in a mad scramble to build and be the prime playing grounds for the RICH... those homes and condos are awesome and expensive!!!!

our company delivered almost all the custom stuff going into those millionaire pads and i must say there is no expense spared up there.

for crying out loud they have added over 20 residential sites (over 400 units) most priced well into the 800,000!!! haha for a vacation home!!

My favorite thing to hear on the radio is "We've spent $4,000,000 on the mountain so come to us" uhhhhhh right...so how much did you hike up your lift tickets by?

I want to make a shirt that says "dont make improvment$ to the Mtn if you cant provide a cheap lift ticket" or something

Funny thing is Heavenly is the one with that commercial but they V apparently V still have great season prices, unlike the other places
