KB Bushings installed?
KB Bushings installed?
Hi, looking to see if anyone would install these bushings for cheap in the San Leandro/Hayward area. I don't have any jacks at home and I was gonna buy those ram thingy from Kragen and jack up my car and replace the bushings. But I really don't know how safe those things are, they are only $20 afterall. So any ideas?
Thanks!
I got my KB SS in now...so my wagon isn't bone stock anymore!
Thanks!

actually if your car is not lowered, you can do it with out having to jack up the car... theres plenty of room..

I think he meant shifter bushings...not exhaust hangers. I don't think there is a way in HELL you could change the shifter bushings without getting well under the car.

i was there when alex installed the bushing on your car and mine at bozz after the day from randy's install-fest...

he used your jack to lift up the driver's side just enough so alex could slide under there and R&R the bushing....
yup, I remember, but I have also done a few after that myself, all without having to jack up the car. Maybe I just have freakishly long arms...

1. Yeah, I was referring to the shifter bushing.
2. I change oil and filter w/o jacking up the car since it's not lowered. But I read the instructions on the bushings that you have to push diagonally somehow and it's a PITA to get the stock one off. But I will give it a shot and see if I can get to it without jacking.
3. Mexicanpizza, I am in San Leandro, how'bout you?
4. Thanks for your help guys. Really appreciate it.

Good luck...it's almost in the dead center of the car. If you could get two wheels up on a curb then you'd probably have good luck.
Removing the old bushing is a snap...There is a bolt through the middle, use it to push the old one out. And make sure you put the little plate back on in the right orientation or it will click badly and not want to go into third gear (not that i know from experience!
)
i'm in mountain view/millbrae. I think you won't have any problems.
