Are new bushings needed when replacing struts (control arm bushings)?

I'm replacing the suspension on my 2000 2.5RS with KYB AGXs and an Eibach ProKit. A friend of mine informed me that it may be a good idea (he has a Honda) to look into replacing the bushings on the control arm (I think?) when doing this because the original rubber ones could be worn.
He suggested enegergysuspension.com, so I looked and they don't make them for my car. Has anyone run into this as an issue or would I be okay using the ones on there right now?
Thoughts?
Thanks-
~Eric

I read that if you're planning to run low ride heights for a long time, it helps to replace the rubber bushings with urethane and to make sure that they are torqued at the new ride height.
I think the stock ones are torqued for the higher ride height, so when you drop the car, the bushings twist excessively. Same goes for the aftermarket bushings, if they are torqued while in the air, it'll have some major twisting going on when its dropped down to the new height.
I forget which bushings this applies to, but I would imagine the control arm bushings.
Not sure on this though, I may be talking nonsense. I haven't taken my control arm off my car yet, so I can't confirm this, but it is something to think about.

I am putting on Eibach ProKit springs which should only lower the car 1" in the front and 1.2" in the back. I imagine this is a minimal lowering compared to what is out there. So based on your previous comment, I should technically be okay, right? I hope?

I've never heard of needing to do this... You should be okay unless you're dropping it like 3-4" (I can see why your Honda buddy might think you should...)
