I looked at the same position - wouldn't even consider me because I lack a college degree. Pretty gay criteria, IMO.
Good luck, man.
And just so you know, that pay comes out to about $35k/yr, which is about normal for a college grad. Of course, a college grad would be making $17/hr or so for 80hrs/pay period.
College degrees just aren't what they used to be worth anymore

I hear ya but with hours like that I'd never have time to interview @ other places.

if nothing else, maybe you should look into temp work. it's $15/hr and the hours are regular, assuming you line the projects up one after another.

You know there's a problem when you need a degree to work as a rental car salesman.
Your right Dough, degrees just aren't what they were and people without them seem to be doing fine.

honestly, the rental agents have a farily cushy job as long as you don't get stuck at the airport or a car dealership.

never thought i'd quote my mom on this, but "SBC is hiring for jobs in Oakland" ...IT and Customer Service...and from what I know the pay is alot better than enterprise ($17 to start, i even think this is without a degree, and no experience), you also get 2 reviews a year...just an option if you're interested.

times have changed...i feel for the new grads joining the workforce.
Getting a good paying job in the bay area is more about who you know, or specifically what unique skill set do you have. I degree gives you a foot in the door, but no experience. You need to have a viable skill set to get hired, unless you wanna work in the mailroom (and there's nothing wrong with that). Try and get a hookup, ask your mom/dad for help. Get hired, show 'em you can handle larger resposibilities and start some forward momentum.
I agree that pay sucks azz (401K??how are you going to contrbute to that with so little take home!) but nobody says you have to stay forever.

Now why don't you need a degree to get a job like this which pays substantially more $?
Anyone?
